Mauro Baldini was born in San Martino al Cimini, in the Viterbo Provence in 1960. He has worked with wood as a creative material since he was a boy. The emphatic feeling that exists between this genial artist-craftsman and wood induces Baldini to create unrepeatable and unique works, both in the area of his construction business and in the realisation of his artistic works.
The Corriere della Sera writes: “…when art meets wood, when the living expression of nature meets up with a man’s creativity, which is pure artistic vocation, what happens is really quite extraordinary…”
The artist’s profile is characterised by a commitment, combined with playfulness, to the projecting and the research of function and movement, both in his huge toy clock sculptures and in his many other works powered by wind and water.
In regards to his construction company work, Baldini prefers projects and materials that are environmentally compatible. His constructions, houses and roofs are made from new generation wood (that can be externally plastered), are anti-seismic and conform to the energy conservation laws for energy saving and sound proofing. Some examples are: straw houses, garden roofing, clay rendering, breathable coverings, and pressed straw panels.
Mauro Baldini strongly believes that environmentally friendly green architecture represents hope for a better future.
